Bio | About
Claire Rodriguez is a background artist and illustrator born and raised in Oxnard, California. During high school, she watched the Pixar movie Up and the movie inspired her to work in animation.
After graduating from Oxnard High School, Claire attended California State University Northridge to pursue animation and discovered her passion to create background designs and background painting. While attending CSUN, she has been on the Dean’s List and has had art displayed in the display cases on campus at the Art and Design Center. Claire graduated from CSUN in 2018.
Claire worked for Mighty Animation as a background painter for Summer Memories and as a freelance illustrator for AstroLucha. She has worked as a background designer and painter for two Spark Grant Animated shorts "Urie" and "Roots" which made their debuts at LALIFF. Claire is open for work and looking for full time or freelance work as a background painter or production assistant.
Currently, Claire freelances as a background painter on smaller projects, and attends Santa Monica College in pursuit of an Associates Degree in Graphic Design.
During her free time, Claire loves to paint on anything she can make and plays Fallout. She loves watching horror movies and listening to music.
Her favorite character is Ahsoka Tano from Star Wars Clone Wars. Often, she gets mistaken as Mavis Dracula from Hotel Transylvania.
